大阪万博2025に行ってきました
9月初め、母と一緒に大阪万博へ行ってきました。
この日はなんと18万人もの来場者があったそうで、会場は大賑わい。東ゲートは大混雑し、荷物検査を終えて入場するまでに1時間半もかかりました。
ようやく入場すると、目の前に広がるのは想像をはるかに超えるスケールの大屋根リング。その迫力に圧倒されながらも、入り口で出迎えてくれた公式キャラクターのミャクミャクに癒され、思わず笑顔になりました。
そのあと、噴水ショーが始まるのを待っていると、外国の方に「ここで写真を撮りたいです。少しだけいいですか？」と英語で声をかけられました。咄嗟でしたが意味はしっかり聞き取れたので、「どうぞ」と返事。そこから少し会話も楽しみ、簡単なやり取りならできるものだなと、ちょっとした自信にもつながりました。
人気のパビリオンはどこも長蛇の列で、入るのはなかなか難しかったのですが、会場全体を歩くだけでも十分に楽しめました。特に夜になるとライトアップされ、幻想的な雰囲気に包まれた万博の景色はとても印象的でした。
今回の万博のテーマは「いのち輝く未来社会のデザイン」。世界中の人々が集まる場だからこそ、未来に向けて「共に生きる」ためのコミュニケーションの大切さを強く感じました。ほんの短い英語でのやり取りでしたが、言葉を交わすことで心が近づく瞬間があり、英語は未来をつなぐカギになると実感しました。
母と一緒に特別な体験ができ、混雑も含めて思い出に残る一日となりました。
My Visit to Expo 2025 Osaka
In early September, I visited Expo 2025 Osaka with my mother.
That day, as many as **180,000 people** came to the site, and the venue was packed with excitement. The East Gate was extremely crowded, and it took us **an hour and a half** to get through the security check before we could finally enter.
Once inside, the scale of the **Grand Roof Ring** was far greater than I had imagined. Its presence was overwhelming, but at the same time, I was greeted by the official mascot **Myaku-Myaku**, whose cuteness instantly made me smile.
Later, while waiting for the fountain show to begin, a foreign visitor asked me in English, *“Could I take a picture here? Just for a moment?”* I was able to understand the meaning and replied, *“Go ahead.”* We even enjoyed a short conversation. It was a small moment, but it gave me confidence that I could handle simple exchanges in English.
The most popular pavilions were surrounded by long lines, making it difficult to enter, but just walking around the site itself was fascinating. At night, the illuminated Expo grounds created a magical atmosphere that left a deep impression on me.
This year’s Expo theme is **“Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”** With people gathering from all around the world, I realized how important communication is for building a shared future. Even a brief exchange in English can bring hearts closer together. In that sense, English is not just a language—it is a key that connects us to the future.
Visiting the Expo with my mother turned out to be a truly special experience, one that I will always remember—crowds and all.
